Health and Wellbeing

Back to Blog

At Ecology Resources we feel strongly that the health and wellbeing of our staff is paramount to the delivery of our vision and a moral obligation.

Last summer two members of our staff attended Mental Health First aider courses run by MHFA England, and we have a couple more staff undertaking them later this year. This is to ensure all our staff have a trained person that they can turn to in confidence who can offer them advice, signpost them to the correct help or simply be someone that listens non judgementally and with respect.

The workplace has changed for people and organisations. In the last few years, we’ve seen a global pandemic, economic downturns, cost of living pressures, adaptation to hybrid working, the great resignation and a recruitment crisis. It has taken a toll on employees, and now – more than ever – they need mental health support in the workplace.

Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders®) are crucial to helping boost employee wellbeing as we all adjust to a profoundly changed workplace environment. Providing support, building confidence and growing a community to drive change is crucial. It isn’t a footnote or a half-hearted line in the small print. MHFA England have spent 15 years generating conversation around workplace mental health, and we understand that being an effective MHFAider® requires learning and support beyond training.
