John C

John had dozens of jobs, from ghost train operator to taxi driver to mushroom picker and seemingly everything in between, before landing his dream gig as a keeper at London Zoo (mostly scooping up camel poo) and culminating many years later as a Senior Bird Keeper at Gerald Durrell’s Jersey Zoo (mostly scooping up bird poo). He has also worked for the RSPB/Forestry Commission on their red kite project.

More recently, John spent 10 years learning from some of the UK’s best ecological consultants at FPCR Environment & Design Ltd in Derbyshire, where he eventually headed up the bird survey dept. Naomi and John started ER in 2016 and with their great team have built it into the thriving company it is today.
